Your post about a mountain too many, reminds me of coming down into France from Andora with no front brakes on our dodge 50 bus, handbrake and engine breaking all the way....back to Brighton.

What a drive that was.

Glad ya truck is still rollin on, maybe get to the dodge owners meet up in 2 weeks time in East Yorkshire 8/910 May.

Keep it dodgy

Ahhh the end of an epic journey - looking forward to hearing all about it soon! And Doris made it back, just about. Some serious TLC is required before you take her out on another adventure like that!

I'm coming to the end of my extended hols now too - boooo! Me and Fae are on Koh Phanang, one of the islands down South on the Gulf Coast. Heading back to Bangkok tomorrow and flying back on the 15th. Staying a night with Chris Parr but will be in touch when I'm back and will arrange something (not sure what yet!).

Anyway, glad to hear you're home safe and sound and will see you in Pembrokeshire. Lots of love x x

Sounds like a really tough life ;-)

Really enjoyed all your updates - didn't realise you were heading back to Europe so soon though? Those mountain roads get the better of you in the end?!

Glad you're safe and happy - say hi to Pete n Pat if you're still in their company.

I'm in Cambodia at the moment. Surprisingly friendly country, considering their devastating recent history. People here live for the day, understandingly. Of course being white I'm a walking dollar sign, but you get used to it. I'm sure Morocco is much more intense!

Travelled through Laos as well which is a really beautiful country, enjoyed every minute.

Tomorrow I see the temples of Angkor, one of the wonders of the world. Very excited about that. Then I travel back to Bangkok to meet Fae, and we're having a three week holiday on the South islands of Thailand.

Like you say, life isn't bad ;-)

Can't wait to see you both and swap stories. What date are you back in Wales? Are you going to make it before me? I fly back on the 15th April, so would be nice if me and Fae could make it down to see you when you're back.

Lots of love, as always, your no.2 son x x x

This is the most entertaining thing I've read in months! Brilliant mum, I love it! I was grinning throughout and chuckling regularly!

My favourite quote is "Piggy says I haven’t captured “the true horror” of the experience" - if Dad found it that horrific, I can't imagine what you must've been like - bundle of nerves?!!

Superb. Glad you're still alive although I'm a bit worried! Stay away from those B-roads!!

Love you both lots

This sounds very much like our trip in the Post Office van through the Kyber Pass in 1975 when the engine boiled and we had to stop half way up to let it cool. However, like us, you did not have to get interrogated by the local police who thought we were dope dealers and were making 'an arrangement' with the local tribesmen. I love reading your blog and wish I was there. Lots of love from 'the Essex connection'xxxxx

What a treat to see Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni Ba at the almond festival. They are so good. I bet that was most enjoyable.

Glad to hear all is well in Piggy world. Everything is fine here. The only thing that's really changed since you've been away is the colour of Gordon Brown's hair (to a greyer hue).

... Oh and a couple of major banks gone under too probably. Nice one Adam Smith.

Looking forward to hearing all about your adventure when you return ...

Enjoy it :)
